Loved this story and was upset at how quickly it ended… I wanted more from it but I know it will be a series and hope it gets expanded.

Aaron and Joshua are on opposite sides of the table when it comes to a deal that needs to be made… in more ways than one, they both have secret..

Joshua is a lawyer trying to close a business deal on Aaron’s family land and is being pressured to make a deal no matter what…

Aaron is protecting more than his land, he is protecting his family secret… They are vampires cursed to live on their land forever and will protect themselves…

Holy crap was the sex hot in this book and I definitely did not want it to end… I want to read more since these men left a very good impression on me…

This book was great Aaron and Joshua were great together.
Wath left me hangi was that if they were bloodmates wasn't it sopose for them to have a bond so Joshua lifespand will be slower rate and won't age as fast as a human,that was the only inconclusive part of the book.what will hapen when he starts to age and Aaron still the same.
I recommend you the book so you have your own opinions.I really hope you like it like I did.I'll be waiting for the next book hope it's soon.

This book surprised me, in a good way. I loved the new take on how one becomes a vampire and what that means for them. Would love to read a book 2. Need more of those brothers.

Mmmm yeah maybe but then again no

I am completely fed up with authors forcing the story arc and pacing in order to create more "volumes" of the same story. It smacks of mercenary more than literary motivation.
There is absolutely no reason given why the society reverts to Middle Ages in technology, society and religion post apocalypse. The authors offer no plausible explanation and don't even hint that the reasons will emerge in subsequent parts of the series.
There seems to be several different groups living simultaneously but it's hard to tell who they are, what makes them different or much about them. "Infected" seem to be split between goodies and baddies but I can't work out how or why from the text.
Next time, set the scene, allow the main characters to develop at a natural pace, give the reader a chance to understand the drivers of the story and some clarity of where you are going.

This book is amazing. I can pick out the heroine, that's easy, it's the only woman who is on multiple pages. But figuring out who is a hero or villain is much more difficult. Even the most evil decisions are logical, given the background of the decision makers.

This book is about what happens a thousand years after the collapse of our current civilization due to zombies that are not your typical zombie. In fact, it's hard to imagine how civilization collapsed in the first place with this breed, authors, can we have an Origen story please? There are so many measures we could currently take to control the fungus that slowly zombifies people.

However, this story shows how unimportant knowledge without immediate payoff became. The disease is spread through inhaling tiny spores. For a hundred years, people would breathe through cloth, which was too loosely woven to stop the spores, so infection was declared the will of God.

However, aside from the gripping storyline about a mother's determination to save her son, there are stories of intellectual curiosity thwarted by the previously stated need for practical knowledge. It's an awesome novel (and I mean that in a Carl Sagan way) that includes all the best explorations of human psychology: a mother's drive to protect her son, the selfless sacrifice of a man to protect his community, intellectual curiosity that leads to relevant conclusions, man's inhumanity to other men and especially women, and other facets of greed, nobility, and adventure.

Since this was a collaboration, I worried

I couldn’t wait to get started on The Last Survivors when I found out who the authors were. T.W. Piperbrook and Bobby Adair couldn’t write a bad book if they tried and together, I thought they would be unstoppable. Post-apocalyptic stories are by far my favorite and when you throw zombies into the mix, well, let’s just say I was kind of excited.

I went into this book with absolutely no knowledge of what it was about, other than the book description. 300 years after the end of the world, the few people left on Earth are struggling to survive. People are being turned into monsters and nobody is happy. As I listened to the book, I expected to hear a little more about the spores but I was disappointed. It took awhile for the action to build and I felt the story lacked some much-needed character development. However, Adair and Piperbrook left the ending wide open for the next book in the series and although I wasn’t as blown away by this story as I hoped to be, it has a lot of potential and I am looking forward to the next part.

Since this was a collaboration, I worried that each author’s part would be easy to pick out and I’m happy to say I was wrong. It was hard to determine which author wrote which part and it flowed seamlessly.

The audio quality of The Last Survivors was excellent. The narrator, Sean Runette, speaks clearly and adds the right amount of tension to every scene. I’m sorry to say I had never heard of this narrator before being given the opportunity to review this book, but he impressed me so much, I will definitely be seeking out more of his work.

Overall, The Last Survivors didn’t go where I expected it to go. It was a little slow in spots but was good enough to leave me curious about the next part of the story. If post-apocalyptic stories are your thing, I urge you to give The Last Survivors a try.
