"Peyton's Playmate" by Tracy James Jones was a sweet quick short romance story of how a player gets fine tuned by a real playmate (woman). I loved this novel because it was truly a game to this handsome young man that lived next door but in the end guess who win the whose affections. Will the final outcome be that Peyton Henderson will find her perfect playmate? Will Jared Davy learn how to become man? Now, this is where I say you will just have to pick up "Peyton's Playmate" and see how this story ends. You will not be disappointed!

I thought Peyton's Playmate was a very captivating short read and I would recommend it to you as a excellent read.

I know it was a short story BUT I just kind of expected more. I would have rathered the author spend more time talking about Peyton and Jared than talking about Jared's brother and his dysfunctional relationship with Sara. I am a helpless romantic but this didn't do it for me.

There are many SPSS tutorials available online for free. However, if you are like me and you want a physical copy this is the book you want. It has many examples, step by step instructions with pictures and diagrams. By far the best resource for using SPSS. I used it for my intermediate statistics course in undergrad.

I teach a behavioral sciences statistics class and I require this book for my class for their work in SPSS. I've also done some stats tutoring on the side and I tell every student that I tutor to buy this book. I've had so many of my students whom I tutor tell me how good this book is and how helpful it is for them to understand SPSS. It's the BEST SPSS book that I've seen because it has screen shots and boxes with arrows that directly explain what the output means and also how to write everything in APA format. I wouldn't use any other SPSS book.

JRD was a real visionary. I am very very much impressed by his leadership qualities, for me he is a legend in the Indian business and industrial community. There is no one who can come closer to his abilities.
Any one interested in Indian industrial development should read this book.

Poorly written book on a wonderful life

This book on JRD Tata is extremely one sided. Reading it gives you the impression that the author has deliberately chosen to ignore actions which are controversial or not so palatable. I do not think a biography should be written in this way. No personality is black or white, invariably it is grey; and an objective biographer should neither try to idolize nor put down his subject. Maybe it is a problem with all biographies written during the subject's lifetime. Especially in cases where the biographer has secured the cooperation of his subject and feels it would be letting him down if he were to publicize certain aspects which may not necessarily be in favourable light. Nevertheless, whatever the criticism of the way in which this book is written, I must say that there is a lot one can learn from JRD Tata's life. Here was a man who inspite of being a successful businessman and head of an industrial empire was extremely sensitive and humane. Inspite of being born into riches, he was extremely caring and considerate to the cause of his employees, shareholders and above all to his country. He always thought that economic enterprise should further and not harm the cause of a nation. Infact it is written in the book that he has probably fired an employee only once or twice in his whole lifetime. There is a lot one can learn from his life on managing men . One realises after reading this book that provided the person at the top has a conscience, capitalism and free enterprise need not be solely greed and ugliness. It can further the general good. JRD who was an extremely succesful industrialist aptly demonstrated this in his lifetime. To Lala's credit, this aspect does come out very clearly in the biography.

His achievements are undeniable, and the book is an enlightening read even though the biographer's style does nothing to help the reader. How I wish someone like David McCullough could do justice to JRD's unique life!

Accessible and erudite

This is a beautiful book which pairs lucid translation with meaty commentary. In the introduction, Reeve helpfully addresses the types of questions contemporary readers might pose (i.e. "Is the Investigation in the Metaphysics a Scientific One?"), helping to ensure that concepts aren't "lost in translation." Notes throughout the text open windows into difficult passages. Reeve also often provides the valences of meaning with the original Greek.

The decades Reeve has spent with Plato and Aristotle form a total benefit to the reader: here he presents Aristotle's most difficult work in a manner both accessible and erudite. Buy this book!

good book, poor formatting

The only problem I had with this book was the formatting - it wouldn't let me skip chapters, so if I wanted to skip to, say, chapter 12, I had to swipe though hundreds of pages instead of being able to swipe down a few times. Extremely irritating and inconvenient.

About the Author
Thomas O. Hueglin is Professor of Political Science at Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada. He has published widely on federalism and the history of political thought. He has also served as UN adviser to the Constitutional Drafting Commission of the Republic of Yemen.

Alan Fenna is Professor of Politics at the John Curtin Institute of Public Policy, Curtin University, Western Australia. He is the author of a range of journal articles, book chapters, and reports on economic policy, social policy, constitutional issues, and federalism.

A very well written, comprehensive and informative book. It opened my eyes to my misconceptions of Pakistan. Looking at some of the author's photos, it was hard to believe that they were in Pakistan. Stunning scenery and some exotic looking places. Will use this for a planned trip next year.

A therapy that really works

I've known for a long time that I lived too much in my head, was too much of an intellectual. Something wasn't quite right about my ability to enjoy the "here and now." Even after graduating from MIT and a top business school and starting two successful companies, I knew I was missing out on important, emotional, parts of life. I tried eleven different therapists; all were very well intentioned, but none seemed to really understand why I needed, unconsciously, to be so "smart." Each had their hand on only one part of the elephant. Finally, I came across PRI. It is the real thing, a deep dive into what really makes us who we are, and how to rewire those parts of our nervous system that keep us, unconsciously, from living in the moment. It is taking me a lot longer than the nine weeks the author predicts, but for the first time I am enjoying more in life than just being clever. I highly recommend the book.

The Best Self-Help Book that will give you access to living in the here and now

This book is just wonderful. I love the theory of Mrs. Bosch, out of all the theories and therapies I have done and read (and there have been a few - ranging from CBT, hypnotherapy, Transactional ANalysis, NLP), this has by far been the most effective. The clarity of the concepts and the methodical tools behind this are written up in such a clear way that it's easy to follow and you can apply it step-by-step giving you access to the deeper feelings that are behind what's bothering you in the here and now. Where Eckart Tolle talks about the Power of the Now, Ingeborg Bosch gives a clear method on how to get there, what we need to do to be (more) in the here and now. A self-help book like no other. This has changed my life. Thank you Mrs. Bosch. I have just discovered she's also done some youtube video in which she explains her concepts. This is great stuff

The work of Ingeborg Bosch is based on the work of Alice Miller and Jean Jenson. So the insights of her books are getting cristalised for years now and that's what makes the work of Ingeborg very, very rich. This book is more like a workbook to support Self-PRI. If you want to dive into her work than I strongly advice you to read her older work "Illusions". Be prepared, only reading her work will start-up a healing process. Ken Wilber would call it Psycho-Active. So yes, the work if Ingeborg is Psycho-Active.

About the Author
John D. DeLamater, Professor of Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, received his education at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and the University of Michigan. He earned his Ph.D. in Social Psychology in 1969. He has been teaching the undergraduate course in social psychology since 1970, and graduate courses and seminars in the area since 1981. He leads a seminar on teaching for graduate students, and has won several teaching awards. His current research and writing are focused on the effects of life-course transitions on sexuality. He has published papers on the effects of having a child, of dual career couples, of divorce, and influences on sexual desire among men and women over 45. His current research is concerned with sexual behavior in later life, and the extent and ways that couples negotiate various non-monogamous lifestyles.

Daniel J. Myers is Professor of Sociology, Fellow of the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, and Chairperson of the Department of Sociology at the University of Notre Dame. He was educated at the Ohio State University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received his Ph.D. in Sociology in 1997. He teaches courses on social psychology, statistics and research methods, and protest, and he received the University of Notre Dame's Kaneb Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in 2002. He has also developed a teacher training practicum for graduate teaching assistants at the University of Notre Dame. His award-winning research focuses on race and protest, the diffusion of social phenomena, urban poverty, and negotiation strategies in small groups.

I don't understand why Social Psychology by David G. Myers is listed as the paperback version of Social Psychology by John D. DeLamater and Daniel J. Myers. I purchased the paperback version as it was less expensive under the assumption that it was the same book as it was listed with the same ISBN number... now I can't do work for my class.
